Who controls your data
Aetherboard is operated by Melis AI Pty Ltd (ACN 623 487 089, ABN 62 623 487 089), an Australian company with its registered office in Queensland 4101, Australia. The business is run day-to-day from the United Kingdom. Contact the controller at sean@melis.ai.
What we use and why
The website sample stays in your browser and is not sent to us. To sell and deliver Aetherboard Local, we use your sign-in identity, email, payment and licence records, and the time you consented to immediate download. Our legal basis is performance of our contract. We use limited security logs to prevent abuse under our legitimate interests, and keep billing records where the law requires them.
Your Aetherboard Local board content stays on your device unless you choose to send it elsewhere. We do not receive it, sell it, use it for advertising or train AI models on it. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Providers and transfers
Clerk processes authentication, Neon hosts account and purchase records, Vercel hosts the website and private application download, and Stripe processes payments. They receive only the data needed for those roles; the private download contains the application, not your board. Some processing may occur outside the UK. We use the provider's applicable data-processing terms and a lawful transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the UK-US Data Bridge for an eligible entity, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
How long we keep it
Account and licence data stays while your account is open. When you close an account, we remove ordinary account data from live systems within 30 days; encrypted backups expire through provider cycles within 90 days. We usually keep security logs for 90 days, support records for 24 months, and contract, billing, consent and tax records for the legally required period, normally six years.
Your device
The website sample uses temporary browser storage so it can work during the open session. Aetherboard Local saves its board files on your computer. Clerk and Stripe may use strictly necessary storage for authentication, security and checkout. We do not launch optional analytics or marketing trackers without your consent.
Your rights and choices
You control and can copy your local board files directly. You may ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or transfer online account data, and you may object where we rely on legitimate interests. Email sean@melis.ai; we normally respond within one month. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or the privacy regulator where you live.
Security and children
Board routes verify the signed-in owner and data travels over encrypted connections. No system can promise absolute security. Aetherboard is for people aged 18 or over and is not designed for children.
